AUTISM ASSESSMENTS

Flying Start Children’s Therapy offers a specialised team of professionals who can help in the diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder for your child.  We recommend approaching an ASD Assessment as a review by a multidisciplinary team who work in conjunction with your Paediatrician.

Our assessment team specifically addresses the diagnostic criteria with the DSM-5 for Autism Spectrum Disorders, determining the presence of impaired socialisation, communication or restricted behaviour across both interests and activities.

Autism Spectrum Disorders can present with a broad range of abilities and needs. For this reason, individuals undergoing assessment can meet a variety of different combinations of criteria and still receive a diagnosis of Autism.

We endeavour to work closely with you to not only provide thorough and comprehensive assessment but understanding and education throughout the process, addressing any questions or queries you and your family may have to ensure you are comfortable and confident at this important time in your child’s life.

At the end of the assessment you are provided with a comprehensive report that includes recommendations for the next steps in helping and supporting your child.
